WIN PHROMPHAET, CFA

Win Phromphaet is Fund Manager at the Social Security Office, Thailand's largest institutional investor. He is responsible for managing local currency bonds, real estate investment trusts (REITs) and offshore investment of the old-age pension fund with AUM of US$10 billion.
Win holds a BA in Economics (International Program) from Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, Netherlands, sponsored by the Royal Thai Government. He is a CFA Charterholder and Scholarship Chair of CFA Society of Thailand. Win is currently teaching Financial Management and Financial Markets at the Bachelor of Economics International Program of Thammasat University. He teaches Corporate Finance & Portfolio Management and Equity Investments part for CFA Level 1 exam at FSA.

BANCHA SERNGADICHAIVIT, MBA (MIT Sloan), CFA 2005 Level 3 Candidate, FRM

Bancha returned to Thailand from New York City in 2004 after working as an associate in Citigroup's Global Corporate and Investment Bank. Prior to that he worked at Bangkok Bank, taught at Kaplan and was a summer associate at Salomon Smith Barney in Singapore. He is currently Vice President at Bangkok Bank's Fund Management Department.
Bancha obtained his MBA from MIT Sloan with a GPA of 5.0/5.0 and earned his BBA (finance) with first class honors from Thammasat University. He is currently a CFA Level 3 candidate awaiting the results from the 2005 examination. Bancha teaches Financial Statement Analysis, Debt Investments, Derivative & Alternative Investments part for CFA Level 1 exam at FSA.

PIYAKORN CHONLAWORN, FRM, PRM, CFA

Piyakorn holds a Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering from Chulalongkorn University, a Master of Sciences in Financial Engineering from Columbia University and a Master of Art in Economic Law from Chulalongkorn University. He was awarded GARP’s Financial Risk Manager (FRM), and PRMIA’s Professional Risk Manager (PRM) designation in 2003 and CFA charter in 2006.

Piyakorn has extensive experiences in financial market. Piyakorn is presently an Assistant Vice President – Private Wealth Management Research at Phatra Securities PLC. His focus is on derivatives and structured products investments. In his previous role, he was a Market Risk Manager of Bank Thai PLC. Besides, he was a member of the pioneer team to establish the Thailand Futures Exchange (TFEX), responsible for various roles including business development and education. Piyakorn serves as a lecturer at Assumption University’s MBA program, where he teaches course in Investments. He teaches Quantitative Method part for CFA Level 1 and Market Risk Management for FRM exam at FSA.


ANDREW STOTZ, Completed CFA Level 3 (2001)


Andrew Stotz, CFA has lived in Thailand since 1992 and has been an equity analyst since 1993. He graduated with a BS. in finance and an MBA from California State University.

He has been the head of research at CLSA in Thailand since October 2007. Andrew has written thousands of pages of equity strategy and company research about the Thai stock market. Currently he manages a research team of seven and writes strategy regularly.

Andrew was voted #1 analyst in Thailand in the Asiamoney Brokers Poll 2008 and also was voted #1 analyst in Thailand in the 2009 Institutional Investor Magazine All-Asia Research Team Report. Meanwhile the Research team at CLSA Thailand was voted number one in both of the above surveys and also in the 2009 Greenwich client survey.

Previously Andrew was head of research at Citigroup (Thailand) where he brought the research team's ranking from #9 to #2 in the US Greenwich client survey. Prior to that he was head of research at Macquarie Securities (Thailand) and has been a head of research and analyst at various brokers since 1993.

Andrew has been a guest lecturer in finance for 17 years at various universities in Thailand. Additionally he is a board member of the CFA Society of Thailand. Lastly with his best friend, Andrew co-owns CoffeeWorks Co. Ltd., Thailand’s leading specialty coffee roaster since 1995.

SMART SAENSUK, PHD, CFA , FRM

Smart Saensuk is Vice President, Wholesale Banking at ING Bank NV. He focuses on cross-border M&A, structured finance, and Debt Capital Markets. In addition, he is relationship manager for financial institutions, focusing on derivatives and structured products. Smart was a lecturer at Assumption University’s MBA program, where he taught courses in Corporate Finance and Investments. He taught Quantitative Methods and Economics sessions for CFA Level 1 at FSA.

Smart graduated from the University of Missouri with a Ph.D. in Finance. He completed his MBA (Finance) and MS (Economics) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and BA (Accounting) from Chulalongkorn University. He is Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and holds the certification of Financial Risk Manager (FRM).
